in Hartlepool, schooled in England, Germany, Singapore and
Scotland, graduated with an honours degree in geography from
Strathclyde University, followed by a postgraduate diploma in
land surveying awarded by University College London, and then
later achieved a masters degree in geographical information
systems from the University of Salford.
Career
commenced in the UK working as a land surveyor for Surveying
Services Ltd and then the British Gas Corporation building
cross-country pipelines.
